Secondary Depots

The secondary depots form an essential part of the infrastructure system of the National Petroleum Company (Sudan). They play a key role in the storage and filling of domestic and industrial gas across different regions of the country, ensuring geographic coverage, supply stability, and proximity of service to consumers.

These depots have been established in accordance with approved operational and safety standards, with unified filling systems and operational facilities to ensure efficiency, ease of maintenance, and continuity of operations.

Madani Gas Depot

Location: Madani City – Al Jazirah State
Approximate Area: 11,000 square meters

The depot includes integrated operational facilities such as administration offices, a control room, and a gas filling hall.

Gas Filling Systems

  • Semi-automatic carousel system supplied by KAYA (Turkey):
    • 12.5 kg cylinders
    • Production capacity exceeding 250 cylinders per hour
  • Fixed filling system:
    • 25 kg cylinders
    • Production capacity of 60 cylinders per hour
  • Platform for loading and unloading gas tankers

Storage Tanks

  • One gas storage tank with a total capacity of 60 tons
  • One water storage tank with a capacity of 250 cubic meters

Safety and Operations

  • Fire-fighting systems
  • Air and gas compressors
  • Three access points (entry / exit / emergency exit)
The automatic gas cylinder filling unit with the Carousel Filling System allows multiple cylinders to be filled at the same time with high accuracy, which increases operational efficiency and reduces waste in distribution operations.

Al-Hasahisa Gas Depot

Location: Al-Hasahisa City – Al Jazirah State
Approximate Area: 10,000 square meters

This depot is equivalent to El-Obeid Gas Depot in terms of facilities, equipment, and operational capacity.

Al-Jadeed Al-Thawra Gas Depot

Location: Al-Jadeed Al-Thawra City – Al Jazirah State

Equipped with a carousel filling system with a production capacity of:

  • 250 cylinders (12.5 kg) per hour
  • 50 large cylinders per hour

Al-Qutaina Gas Depot

Location: Al-Qutaina City – White Nile State
Approximate Area: 10,000 square meters

This depot is equivalent to El-Obeid Gas Depot in facilities and operational capacity, using equipment supplied by ATLM (Turkey).

The vertical filling system is in the final installation stage, and shows the parallel lines that aim to increase the daily production capacity of gas cylinders in the Qatina warehouse.

Kosti Gas Depot

Location: Kosti City – White Nile State
Equivalent to El-Obeid Gas Depot in facilities and operational capacity.

The storage warehouse for liquefied gas cylinders includes a shaded shipping platform to protect the stock from weather elements, with a lightning rod system and safety equipment necessary for safe logistical trading operations.

Serves eastern Sudan as part of the secondary depot network.

Al-Damer Gas Depot

Location: Al-Damer City – River Nile State

Al-Multaqa Gas Depot

Location: Al-Multaqa Area
Acts as an operational support point within the supply network.
